Total prize value defined

The total prize value is the total amount your prizes would cost if they were all bought at retail.

How does this affect my promotion?

All official rules for promotions require brands to include the total prize value – often referred to as the Approximate Retail Value (ARV).

If your sweepstakes or game has a total prize value over $5000, FL and NY may require it to be state registered and require you to acquire surety bonds. In RI, if a retail brand is offering any promotion with the chance to win prizes over $500, the promotion may need to be registered with the state.
